Ingredients

Scale

For the Dough and Filling

  • 1 can refrigerated pizza dough
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup pepperoni slices
  • 1/2 cup cooked sausage crumbles
  • 1/4 cup diced green bell pepper
  • 1/4 cup diced onion
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives
  • 1/4 cup marinara sauce

For Topping

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prepare for baking.
  2. Roll Out Dough: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the refrigerated pizza dough into a large rectangular shape, creating an even base for the toppings.
  3. Add Sauce and Toppings: Spread the marinara sauce evenly over the dough, leaving about a 1-inch border around the edges. Then sprinkle mozzarella, cheddar, pepperoni slices, cooked sausage crumbles, diced green bell pepper, diced onion, and sliced black olives evenly over the sauce.
  4. Roll the Dough: Starting from one of the long edges, tightly roll the dough into a log shape. Pinch the seam and the ends firmly to seal all the fillings inside. Place the rolled loaf seam-side down onto the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Apply Topping and Season: Brush the top of the rolled dough with olive oil to ensure a golden crust and sprinkle evenly with Italian seasoning to add an herby aroma.
  6. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the bread turns golden brown and is cooked through, allowing the cheese to melt and the flavors to meld.
  7. Rest and Serve: Remove from the oven and let the Garbage Bread rest for 5 minutes. Slice it into rounds and serve warm, ideally with extra marinara sauce or your preferred dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Make sure to tightly roll and seal the dough to prevent fillings from leaking during baking.
  • Use cooked sausage to avoid undercooking inside the bread.
  • Letting the bread rest after baking helps the cheese set slightly for easier slicing.
  • You can customize the fillings with your favorite pizza toppings.
  • Serve with additional marinara or garlic butter for extra flavor.
