Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 10 ounces green olives with pimento (1 jar, drained; can use sliced or whole olives)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup sour cream

Seasonings

  • 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt (to taste, optional depending on the saltiness of olives)

Garnish (optional)

  • Whole or sliced olives
  • Green onions
  • Parsley

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: Place the drained green olives, softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, shredded mozzarella, sour cream, red wine vinegar, Italian seasoning, onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, and smoked paprika into a food processor.
  2. Process the Dip: Blend the ingredients in the food processor until your desired consistency is reached. Scrape down the sides as needed to ensure even blending. You can make the dip perfectly smooth or leave it a bit chunky depending on your texture preference.
  3. Season to Taste: Taste the olive dip and add kosher salt if needed, considering that olives can be naturally salty. Blend briefly again if salt is added.
  4. Chill: Transfer the prepared dip into a serving bowl, cover it, and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow flavors to meld and deepen.
  5. Serve: Serve chilled with crackers, chips, or fresh vegetables. Optionally garnish with whole or sliced olives, chopped green onions, and parsley for added presentation and flavor.

Notes

  • Adjust salt carefully depending on the saltiness of the olives used.
  • For a spicier twist, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or chopped jalapeño.
  • The dip can be prepared a day ahead and stored refrigerated for up to 3 days.
  • Use a good quality mayonnaise and cream cheese for the best taste and texture.
  • Experiment with different types of olives (such as black or Kalamata) for varying flavors.
