This Crockpot Brownies Pudding recipe combines the rich, chocolatey goodness of brownies with the creamy texture of chocolate pudding, all effortlessly cooked in a slow cooker. Perfect for an indulgent dessert that’s moist and luscious, topped optionally with ice cream or whipped cream.

Ingredients

Scale

Brownie Batter

  • 1 box (approximately 15 ounces) brownie mix
  • 2 large eggs (or as directed on brownie mix box; alternatively, water and oil as per package instructions)
  • ½ cup (118 ml) vegetable oil
  • 3 tablespoons (45 ml) water

Pudding Mixture

  • 1 package (3.4 ounces) instant chocolate or chocolate fudge pudding mix
  • 2 cups (474 ml) milk, regular or nonfat

Optional Toppings

  • Ice cream
  • Whipped cream

Instructions

  1. Prepare Slow Cooker: Lightly coat the inside of a 6-7 quart slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  2. Mix Brownie Batter: Following the instructions on the brownie mix box, combine the brownie mix with eggs, vegetable oil, and water (or substitute as directed). Stir until well blended.
  3. Pour Brownie Batter: Evenly pour the prepared brownie batter into the greased slow cooker, spreading it out flat.
  4. Prepare Pudding Mixture: In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the instant pudding mix and milk until smooth and no lumps remain.
  5. Layer Pudding Over Brownie: Carefully pour the pudding mixture over the brownie batter in the slow cooker, distributing it as evenly as possible.
  6. Cover Slow Cooker: Lay a paper towel across the top of the slow cooker to catch condensation, then cover with the lid securely.
  7. Cook: Set the slow cooker to high and cook for 2 to 3 hours. Begin checking around 2 hours; edges should be slightly dry and firm, center soft and moist. Avoid overcooking to maintain moistness.
  8. Serve: Once done, serve the brownies pudding warm. Top with optional ice cream or whipped cream if desired.
  9. Store Leftovers: Transfer leftovers to an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3 days.

Notes

  • Different slow cookers may vary in cooking time; monitor closely after 2 hours to avoid overcooking.
  • Do not rely on a toothpick test as the center pudding layer remains moist by design.
  • Use a paper towel under the lid to prevent condensation from dripping back into the pudding, which can affect texture.
  • For a dairy-free version, substitute milk and pudding mix with appropriate lactose-free or plant-based alternatives.
  • Best served warm with vanilla ice cream or fresh whipped cream to complement the rich chocolate flavors.
