Ingredients

Scale

Strawberries

  • 1824 large strawberries

Filling

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 (8 ounce) package of cream cheese, softened
  • 1/3 cup sour cream
  • 2/3 cup white granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice (optional)

Topping

  • 1/2 cup graham cracker crumbs

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Strawberries: Remove the stems from the strawberries and slice each berry in half. Cut a small sliver off the back of each strawberry half so they can stand upright on a serving surface. Using a small melon baller, gently hollow out the center of each half to create a small cavity for the filling, being careful not to remove too much flesh to prevent the filling from sliding off.
  2. Whip the Cream: In a medium mixing bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream using an electric mixer until stiff peaks form, which typically takes about 5 minutes. Set aside once achieved.
  3. Make the Cream Cheese Mixture: In a separate bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and optional lemon juice. Using an electric mixer, blend the ingredients until the mixture is smooth and fully incorporated.
  4. Combine Mixtures: Fold the whipped cream gently into the cream cheese mixture until the filling is smooth and uniform without deflating the whipped cream.
  5. Fill the Strawberries: Transfer the cream cheese filling into a piping bag fitted with a star tip or any preferred tip for decorative effect. Carefully pipe the filling into the hollowed-out centers of each strawberry half.
  6. Add Topping: Sprinkle graham cracker crumbs over the filled strawberries to add a crunchy texture and complement the flavor.
  7. Serve: Arrange the deviled strawberries on a serving platter and enjoy immediately or refrigerate briefly before serving to keep the filling firm and fresh.

Notes

  • For best results, use fresh, firm strawberries that can stand upright after slicing.
  • Chilling the whipped cream and mixing bowls before whipping helps achieve stiffer peaks faster.
  • The lemon juice adds a subtle brightness but can be omitted if preferred.
  • Graham cracker crumbs can be substituted with crushed nuts or cookie crumbs for variation.
  • These treats are best served the same day but can be refrigerated for up to 24 hours in an airtight container.
