Instructions

  1. Divide the beef: Separate the 1 pound of ground beef into 4 equal portions to evenly distribute meat for each taco.
  2. Shape on tortillas: Spread each beef portion thinly over each flour tortilla, seasoning with salt and pepper for flavor. Ensure the beef covers most of the tortilla surface.
  3. Heat skillet: Warm a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat with the tablespoon of neutral oil to prevent sticking and to get a nice sear.
  4. Cook meat side down: Place the tortillas meat-side down on the hot skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the beef is golden and fully cooked on the bottom.
  5. Add cheese and finish: Flip the tortilla so the meat side is now facing up. Immediately add a slice of cheese on the meat and cook for another 1-3 minutes until the cheese melts.
  6. Repeat for remaining tacos: Remove cooked tacos from the skillet and repeat the cooking process for the remaining portions.
