Sliders
- 12 Hawaiian sweet rolls (or other slider buns)
- 1 pound sliced deli turkey breast
- 6 slices provolone or Swiss cheese, cut in half
- 1/2 cup cranberry sauce (chunky preferred)
Butter Topping
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon everything bagel seasoning (or just poppy seeds)
- Preheat and prepare baking dish. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish to prevent sticking and ease cleanup.
- Slice buns. Carefully slice the entire slab of slider buns horizontally through the middle, keeping the top and bottom connected. Place the bottom halves of the buns in the prepared baking dish.
- Layer turkey, cheese, and cranberry sauce. Evenly layer the sliced deli turkey over the bottom buns. Arrange the halved cheese slices on top of the turkey. Dollop the cranberry sauce over the cheese for a burst of tangy flavor.
- Add top buns. Place the top halves of the buns over the cranberry sauce, completing the slider assembly.
- Brush with butter and seasoning. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter and everything bagel seasoning. Generously brush this flavorful mixture over the tops of the slider buns to enhance browning and taste.
- Cover and bake. Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes. This covered stage creates steam, gently melting the cheese and warming the fillings.
- Uncover and finish baking. Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 5-10 minutes until the tops are golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and fully melted. This gives the sliders a crisp, toasted finish.
- Cool and serve. Remove from the oven, let the sliders cool for a few minutes, then slice and serve immediately for best flavor and texture.
Notes
- Use Hawaiian rolls for a sweet, soft slider base, but any small slider buns will work.
- Chunky cranberry sauce adds nice texture, but smooth is acceptable if preferred.
- Everything bagel seasoning gives an extra savory flavor; substitute poppy seeds if unavailable.
- Make sure to keep the buns connected while slicing to ease assembly and baking.
- For an extra kick, add a thin layer of mayonnaise or Dijon mustard under the turkey.
- These sliders are best served warm but can be reheated covered in the oven to retain moisture.
